Probably not enough for a paper, but intriguing...

Waitresses at Woolworth's staged an eight-day sitdown strike in 1937, singing, dancing, exercising, doing each others hair and nails until finally management recognized their union and gave them a five-cent per hour pay hike.

I am still undecided on my exact topic, and Flint was always my fallback, but figured someone was sure to do it and I wanted a topic that no one else was writing on.   Has anyone come across any other possible topics in your research that may be interesting?  I was hoping to do something Michigan related but, am open to suggestions, obviously i want to make this decision quickly and would greatly appreciate any input.

Great Moments in Eyebrow History

Being that I only have one eyebrow...
...I was particularly taken with the clip with John Lewis, who was president of the United Mine Workers of America for 40 years (1920-60), but more obviously had one incredible pair of brows.

Is this thing on? aka Intro

Hello-

Richard Dana is what I have been named for a large percentage of my life, however, this is certainly the first time I have blogged it.  My major is Interdisciplinary Studies in Social Science with the intention of teaching elementary school in the future.  The periods of history that have always intrigued me the most would be the Wild West and WWII.  This may tip my hand that the majority of my historical interest stems more from my interest in movies and not so much from educational endeavors.
I haven't tried to narrow my topic down quite yet, but i hope to soon.  Now I am going to see if i did this right.  Be well and see you all in class.
